February 2026
Welcome to February 2026 and a new issue of my newsletter. I have loads of Makoom news to share this month and we'll jump right in!
Table of Contents
1. Obsessed With You
My new track with Andromeda1, ‘Obsessed With You’ is out everywhere on Nahawand Recordings. This track is a great blend of both our styles to create a driving festival trance anthem that has some amazing hands in the air moments as well as giant drops. Its out everywhere now, and I would love to hear what y’all think of my latest record.

2. Shadow of Longing
Just around the corner is my next release on Rice Bowl Recordings, ‘Shadow of Longing.’ A mainstay in my sets, this instrumental track combines dark driving techno elements, lots of percussion, huge stabs, and an epic breakdown for a truly unique hybrid track. I love seeing everyone dance their hearts out whenever the first drop hits and then feel the emotions of the orchestra building to an epic finish. You can pre-order or pre-save a copy now and its coming everywhere at the end of the month.
‘Style’
My first release on Reverie XO ‘Style’ is receiving some 🔥 reviews. Featured on nearly a dozen playlists, it represents the next evolution in the Makoom Sound and I encourage you to check it out.

3. Tip of the Month: Reverb Sends
Reverb sends are a great tool to ensure that the main essence of a sound remains dry and clear while giving you the option to add reverb and seat a specific sound where you want it in the mix. I generally use it the most on percussive and effects elements because this is a tool that helps me give every element the same type of reverb sound as if they are all recorded in the same room. Once I pick my sounds, I send them to a simple reverb channel and give each element the amount of volume that I think best fits it in the mix. This is an ear thing, but if I want an element to have more prominence, I send it at a louder volume. Now, each one of your elements will have the same sounding reverb and give your mix more cohesion without reducing the clarity of the original dry sound.

4. Photo of the Month
I don’t talk about my day job a lot, but just a few weeks ago, I was promoted to the rank of major in the United States Army. I was thrilled to have my service and hard work recognized, but more blessed to share it with my wife, daughter, parents, and some amazing people I’ve worked with throughout the years. They have all moved mountains to help get me where I am in life and it really helps me make the best music I can for everyone too. I hope everyone’s year continues to shine brightly and look forward to spending time with everyone soon.

Promoted!
